				On the train from Aviemore
The journey began with a short walk from home to Aviemore train station, where we boarded the train for the scenic one-hour ride to Inverness. After a quick bit of shopping in town, we returned to the station and caught the train east to Inverness airport. From there, it was a brisk 20-minute walk from the station to the terminal, helped along by a refreshing breeze.
The airport was quiet, and security was fairly swift—until my bag was pulled aside for additional screening. I asked if they were looking for anything specific, but was told it was just a routine check. However, as I started unpacking my neatly packed stuff sacks one by one, the focus quickly shifted. They asked to see a tin, and at that point it was clear this wasn’t quite as random as first suggested.
With that dealt with, we headed to the waiting area to relax before our flight to Bristol to stay with my parents for a few days.
