Photo: Heading towards Coyhaique in Chile
We checked out at the last possible minute to take advantage of our last hotel for a while; the next few nights would be camping. Heading out of Perito Moreno we were stopped at a routine police check, before continuing slightly more on the 'Ruta 40' then took a side turning towards the Chile border. This was an infrequently used border crossing and we saw surprisingly fewer cars than we had expected considering it was Easter. The did the border crossing formalities in about 2 minutes and were back in Chile. We stopped off in Coyhaique where we filled up at the petrol station, then stocked up at the supermarket before continuing a further 40 km's to Puerto Aysén and back to the same camp site we stayed at on out way down. There were only three other tents here, again we were surprised there weren't more due to the long weekend, good weather and the beautiful camp site.
