Day 30 - Rest day - Santiago de Compostela

Catedral roof top tour

Still an early morning, but with nowhere to go.

Headed out at 9am to visit the tomb of the Apostle St James, located in the cathedral’s crypt beneath the main altar, then attended the pilgrims’ Mass.

A day of sightseeing with the main focus on the cathedral. We visited the Pórtico da Gloria - created in the 12th century by Mestre Mateo, it’s a Romanesque sculpture masterpiece featuring 200 biblical figures that adorn the western façade. Then headed up for the rooftop tour.

After a relaxed day sightseeing

Early night in anticipation of an early start tomorrow – it’s forecast to reach 31°C, so we want to make the most of the cool morning.
