Day 32 - Piaxe to O Logoso

Albergue & bar

Second people to leave this morning, quietly closing the albergue door behind us at 6:00 am. It was misty outside but warm, with a slight breeze. Lots of road walking today - little villages, small roads, main roads, and more little villages.

Misty start to the day

We had coffee in the hamlet of Santa Marina at the halfway point, then found a small bakery shortly after where we picked up some fresher bread than what we’d been carrying in the rucksack - it was also less squashed.

Bus shelter lunch

Lunch wasn’t at lunchtime; it came slightly earlier when we passed a bus shelter just as it started to rain. The timing couldn’t have been better. We sat on the bench and watched pilgrims walk past in ponchos and waterproofs while we ate sandwiches in the dry. The rain didn’t last long, and it was just another hour to our albergue. We arrived 20 minutes before it opened and took our shoes off to air. As we were checking in, the clouds lifted and the sun beat down on us - perfect timing to enjoy the sun and dry our clothes without having to walk in it.

A cold drink at the attached bar, then a rest before dinner - soup and pasta. Meals become more straightforward when you have to carry them on your back.
