Photo: Our hotel in Pai
No early morning swim, just a lot of sleep before organising our bags for our trip to Pai.
We checked out of our hotel and negotiated a rate with one of the red taxis to take us to the bus terminal, only to find we had to wait almost 2 hours before the next available bus.
Pai is located just 85km from Chiang Mai but is a three hour minibus trip due to the nature of the road and it's 762 curves. We stopped an hour and a half into the journey for a toilet and drink break, before continuing on to Pai, arriving at 4.30pm.
We walked the kilometer and a half to our hotel with Gaby stopping to buy some bananas from a man selling them from outside his house.
Our hotel was set in landscaped gardens with a small swimming pool. Our accomodation was a small detached building overlooking the pond and mountains beyond.
After a quick swim to cool off we walked back into town and enjoyed some street food from the various stands lining the main street.
