Day 22 - Luang Prabang and Vietnam planning

You could tell we had booked a nicer hotel today as we were welcomed with a glass of a freshly squeezed orange juice. We had moved to a more central location, closer to the action and tourist markets.

First order of the day was our Visa for Vietnam. Until now we had been planning our trip day to day but now we needed to do a bit more forward planning.

It was going to take about 3 days if we got our visa online so we headed to the Vietnamese Consulate in Luang Prabang who were happy to relieve us of us$80 each in exchange for a visa the same day. We wanted our visa before purchasing flights to Hanoi in the North of Vietnam and were ready to leave Laos so this was our best option.

We picked up our visas in the afternoon along with a free map of Vietnam! Then we headed to the Laos Airline office. I can only hope they run an airline better than they run their sales office. Tickets in hand (or should I say a piece of paper with our ticket details printed from something that resembled a dot matrix printer) we went to relax and start planning for Vietnam.

The evening was spent wandering the huge night market. Unfortunately for Gaby there was no room left her rucsack, so no purchases were made.
