Day 53 - Christmas Day

Today is Christmas day. Not my typical Christmas day. As we opened the hotel door we were hit by a wall of hot air & not a decoration or Santa in sight. We were however greeted with chirpy 'Merry Christmas' by the hotel receptionist and even given a chocolate bar!

First things first, we needed more money if we were to eat a Christmas or any type of meal. We asked the hotel to organise us a taxi back to the main port as this was where the only ATM's on the island were located. Money extracted now Gaby wanted to go shopping. Not being a country that really celebrates Christmas; all the shops and markets were open. After some retail therapy and a 2 km walk in the mid day sun we enjoyed a break on the beautiful white sands and a cool off in the sea.

The afternoon was spent back at Coral beach, having dinner as the sun set over the Andaman sea.
