Day 2 - Tunte to Cruz de Tejeda

A quiet night, and although we woke early, there was no need to hurry. Just before 8 a.m. we walked to the bakery for breakfast and some bread for lunch, then took it back to the room to eat in peace.

We left at 8:30 and began the steep ascent through Tunte, then joined the trail into the pine forest. The climb was steady and straightforward for around 10 km, with plenty of shade and good views.

A short, steeper zig-zag section brought us onto a wide ridge leading to the Ventana de Nublo — a rock arch forming a natural window with impressive scenery. We ate lunch there before continuing the final 8 km, mostly downhill, into Tejeda for the night.

After checking in and showering, we popped across the road to a small shop for water and snacks, then spent the afternoon relaxing at the hotel.
