OUR JOURNEY

An early morning as we left the hotel at 7:20am to walk the 1.5 kms into town to catch the 8:00am bus to Chiang Mai.

Didn't do much today. We ended up in the pool a couple of times. In the evening we headed out for dinner with our friends as it was to be our last night together.

The fun started in the morning when we tried planning where to go next on our trip.

No early morning swim, just a lot of sleep before organising our bags for our trip to Pai.

After the obligatory swim in the pool and a trip to the market, our afternoon activity was to the Doi Suthep Temple.

I rose early in the hope that the guy in the seat/bed below would also rise early and that the attendant would come round and convert the lower bed back into seats.

This evening we are taking the sleeper train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai in the North of Thailand, a 13 hour overnight journey.

Today was my Birthday. It was a day of relaxation & pain!

After sleeping in till about 11:30am (jetlag!), we hurriedly packed our bags in time for check out at mid day.

Woken up at 6:30 am local time as we descended into Bangkok. An uneventful landing followed by a long walk through the terminal building.
